    The first symptoms I noticed were a constant thirst, frequency in urination and sleeping immediately after a meal for 5 – 10 minutes, then feeling fine. You will also notice sweet breath. My grandfather was a diabetic, so these symptoms were like red flags to me. You may also notice a slow healing period for even the simplest bite, scratch or sore. I immediately went in for a Glucose Tolerance Test and was diagnosed in 1993 at 18 years of age. I’d just finished high school and was working for Trane when I found out.

    I hope this helps you, Hon…but I’d suggest you making an appointment and having the Glucose Tolerance Test to determine whether you’re a diabetic. Don’t wonder, Darlin’, be informed! Diabetes is a very serious disease and one that shouldn’t be taken lightly.
