Does an organ transplant (kidneys) help cure a diabetic stage 4 patient?

a) Is a kidney transplant possible, if possible what are the criteria for a successful transplant?
b) regarding question (a) if the patient is a diabetic stage 4 (requires a jebt of insulin every 6 hours) will there be any improvement following the transplant?

    I don’t know if a diabetic who also has kidney failure would be medically well enough for a kidney transplant.
    In theory, a kidney transplant could help the person’s kidney issues, however, they would still have diabetes.
    Only a pancreas transplant can cure diabetes. A kidney transplant probably will not eliminate the need for insulin shots.
