Can you reverse damage done by diabetes?

Didn’t find out I was diabetic until I went into DKA and Im sure that caused damage and was just curious if the damage could be reversed?

    generally, no. but this depends on your age, the length of time your blood glucose has been elevated, and the extent of any damage caused thus far. some minor vascular damage can be reversed. most kidney damage you wouldnt notice until far along in the disease progression. nerve damage, however, cannot be reversed. follow your treatment (diet, exercise, and medicine) and i doubt that any damage caused leading up to and during dka would be much of a concern. the best course for you is to prevent further damage by following your treatment.
